Meeting No. 13

The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in camera at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Yasmin Ratansi, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sylvie Boucher, Patricia Davidson, Nicole Demers, Johanne Deschamps, Nina Grewal, Irene Mathyssen, Hon. Maria Minna, Hon. Anita Neville, Glen Douglas Pearson and Bruce Stanton.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier, Analyst ; Clara Morgan, Analyst ; Karine Richer, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on November 26, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Women and the Court Challenges Program.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on November 21 2007, the Committee resumed its study on Gender Budgets.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Department of Finance, Privy Council and Treasury Board and also Status of Women Canada to send the right resources that are involved in gender based analysis and that monitor the implementation of gender based analysis to appear before the Committee.

It was agreed, — That the Department of Finance, Treasury Board and Privy Council provide beforehand specific documentation relevant to the budgetary process and to gender based analysis throughout the budgetary cycle.

At 10:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
