It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $27,300, for the study of Bill C-51, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Department of Justice Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of human trafficking in Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $116,171.40, for the Committee’s travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Montréal, Québec, Toronto, Ontario, Edmonton, Alberta, and Vancouver, British Columbia, in February or March 2018, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the Committee complete its study of Bill C-51, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Department of Justice Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act, and proceed to its future studies in the following order: counselling and other mental health supports for jurors, criminalization of non-disclosure of HIV status and human trafficking in Canada.
It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of counselling and other mental health supports for jurors, each party send a list of witnesses including their contact information to the Clerk of the Committee no later than Monday, November 6, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the study of counselling and other mental health supports for jurors be promoted on the Committee’s website, on social media and that a letter be sent to all Members of the Parliament.
At 3:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
