The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in camera at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Merv Tweed, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Pierre Lemieux, Francine Raynault, Blake Richards, Brian Storseth, Merv Tweed, Frank Valeriote and Bob Zimmer.

Acting Members present: Paul Calandra for Randy Hoback, Earl Dreeshen for LaVar Payne, Ed Holder for Randy Hoback and Irene Mathyssen for Alex Atamanenko.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst ; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of the animal products supply chain (red meat).

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 11:26 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:34 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $8,800, in relation to the study of Agricultural and Agri-Food Products Supply Chain (Animal Welfare), be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of agricultural and agri-food products supply chain (grains and oilseeds).

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 12:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
