The Standing Committee on National Defence met at 3:46 p.m. this day, in the Salon D, Hotel Gander, Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Chair, the Hon. Maxime Bernier, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Hon. Maxime Bernier, Ray Boughen, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc, Pascal-Pierre Paillé and LaVar Payne.

 

Acting Members present: Scott Simms for Hon. Bryon Wilfert.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Priscilla Boutcher; George Feltham; Johanna Ryan Guy; Wilfred Bartlett, Retired Fishing Captain. Union of National Defence Employees: Sean O'Callaghan, Secretary, Local 90120. IMP Aerospace: Don Cooper, Deputy Site Manager.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of search and rescue response times.
 

Priscilla Boutcher, George Feltham, Johanna Ryan Guy, Wilfert Bartlett and Sean O'Callaghan made statements and answered questions.

 

Laurie Hawn moved, — That Mr. Don Cooper be allowed to make a statement before the Committee.

Debate arose thereon.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 0.

 

Don Cooper made a statement.

 

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
