Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Charles L. Caccia, Stéphane Dion, Serge Marcil and Paul Szabo. |
In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tim Williams, Analyst. |
Witnesses: Department of the Environment: Barry Stemshorn, Assistant Deputy Minister, Environmental Protection Service. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Blair Coomber, Director General, International Trade Policy Directorate. |
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. |
Barry Stemshorn made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions. |
At 5:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair. |
