The Sub-Committee on Human Rights and International Development of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 3:46 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Irwin Cotler, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Irwin Cotler, Karen Kraft Sloan, Deepak Obhrai.
Acting Members present: Francine Lalonde for Yves Rocheleau and Alexa McDonough for Svend Robinson
Other Members present: Keith Martin and André Harvey
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch, Library of Parliament: James Lee and Marcus Pistor, Research Officers.
The Sub-Committee discussed its future business.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed consideration of the urgent matter of the humanitarian catastrophe in African states. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday, February 26, 2003, Meeting No. 1).
The Sub-Committee proceeded to consider a draft report.
It was agreed, - That the draft report be adopted as amended and the Chair present the report to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, pursuant to the order of the Committee of October 28, 2002.
At 5:50 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
