Thursday, April 25, 2002

The Sub-Committee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, Bob Wood, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Roy Bailey, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.

Acting Member present: Claude Bachand for Louis Plamondon

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Department of Health: Dr. Paul Gully, Senior Director General, Population and Public Health Branch; Nancy Garrard, Director, Division of Aging and Seniors, Centre for Healthy Human Development, Population and Public Health Branch; Sue Morrison, Manager, Palliative Care Secretariat, Health Policy and Communications Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-Committee resumed consideration of its study on Long-Term Care for Veterans.

Dr. Gully made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:18 a.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
