Meeting No. 29

Tuesday, February 29, 2000

The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Antoine Dubé, Jim Jones, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Nelson Riis and Susan Whelan.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada: Dr. Thomas A. Brzustowski, President.

Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness.

Dr. Brzustowski made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:37 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
