Meeting No. 14

Tuesday, December 7, 1999

The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Pierre Brien, John Cannis, Jim Jones, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Jerry Pickard, Nelson Riis and Susan Whelan.

Acting Member present: Dan McTeague for Brenda Chamberlain.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Branch of the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the University of Ottawa: Gilles Paquet, Professor; Anthony VanDuzer, Professor.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Anti-Competitive Pricing Practices and the Competition Act (see Minutes of Proceedings and the Evidence of Thursday, November 25, 1999, Meeting No. 9).

Professor VanDuzer made a statement and with Professor Paquet answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
