MINUTES OF PROCEEDING

(Meeting No. 15)

Thursday, December 11, 1997

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:40 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, in a Televised conference, the Chair, George Baker, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: George Baker, Yvan Bernier, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, John Duncan, Charles Hubbard, Gary Lunn and Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Claude Emery and Alan Nixon, Research Officers.

Witnesses: As an individual: Joe Papp, Scallop fisherman. From the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association Ltd.: Mervyn Misener and Rory McLellan.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Fisheries management in the Atlantic provinces.

Joe Papp made an opening statement and answered questions.

Mervyn Misener made opening statements and with the other witness, answered questions.

At 11:02 o’clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
