The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:10 o’clock a.m., this day, in the Crest Hotel, Prince Rupert, British Columiba, the Vice-Chair, Gary Lunn, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: George Baker, Yvan Bernier, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Sophia Leung, Gary Lunn, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano and Peter Stoffer.

Other Member present: Mike Scott.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Claude Emery and Alan Nixon, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Municipality of Prince Rupert: Jack Mussallem, Prince Rupert. From the Municipality of Massett: Dave Penna, Mayor. As Individuals: Paddy Greene, Fisherman; Des Nobles, Gillnetter; Fred Hawkshaw, John Disney; and Peter Logan.. From Northern Trollers: David Prosser and Dana Doerksen. From the Prince Rupert Chamber of Commerce: Allan Sheppard. From United Food and Commercial Workers: Evelyn Mueller. From the Community Fisheries Development Centre: Tasha Sutcliffe, Member; Arnie Nagy, Board Member.
