Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, March 21, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of Current Situation of Human Rights in Ukraine and Russia.

Natasha Power Cayer made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Yevheniia Kravchuk, Vladyslav Atroshenko, Yuriy Bova and Sevgil Musayeva made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Heather McPherson moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee undertake a study on global reproductive rights and justice, including the situation of reproductive rights and justice in the United States of America; that the Committee hold two (2) meetings on this issue; and that the Committee report its findings and recommendations to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

Debate arose thereon.

It was agreed, — That the debate be now adjourned.

At 8:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:41 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The subcommittee commenced consideration of a draft statement.

It was agreed, — That the Members forward any proposed changes to the draft statement to the clerk by Thursday, May 12, 2022, and that the Chair work with the analysts and the clerk to produce a final draft.

It was agreed, — That Members forward their witnesses for the current situation in Tigray to the clerk by Thursday, May 12, 2022.

At 8:48 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
