Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, January 29, 2024, the committee resumed its study of the experience of Indigenous Veterans and Black Veterans.

Richard Blackwolf, Marie Blackburn and Tommy Wayne Benjamin made statements and answered questions.

At 12:17 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:25 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study on suicide prevention among veterans, with this study to include four sessions, each lasting two hours; that the committee report its findings to the House; that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report; and that the committee begin this study as soon as the study on the experience of Indigenous Veterans and Black Veterans is completed.

It was agreed, — That witness lists for the study of suicide prevention among veterans be submitted to the clerk no later than noon on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

At 12:41 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
