Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 3, 2022, the committee commenced its study of the impact of the new rehabilitation contract awarded by the Department of Veterans Affairs on the role of the case manager and quality of service delivery.

Virginia Vaillancourt and Toufic El-Daher made statements and answered questions.

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Steven Harris and Tania Bennett made statements and, with Paulette Gardiner Millar, Jane Hicks, Gilles Chabot and Nathalie Pham, answered questions.

Peter Julian gave notice of the following motion:

That Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) provide to the committee a copy of the contract for rehabilitation services between VAC and Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services by November 25, 2022.

At 5:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:27 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, beginning immediately, the Chair instruct the clerk to work with House of Commons Administration to provide a list of resources of mental health services to every Veteran and RCMP Veteran who is scheduled to appear, in addition to the opportunity to have a support person accompany them, or a service dog, as a routine matter of witness preparation.

At 5:37 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
