The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Hon. Scott Brison, Nathan Cullen, Gerald Keddy, James Rajotte, Murray Rankin, Andrew Saxton and Dave Van Kesteren.

Acting Members present: Matthew Dubé for Guy Caron and Mike Wallace for Mark Adler.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mark Mahabir, Analyst ; André Léonard, Analyst.

Witnesses: Association of Canadian Community Colleges: Denise Amyot, President and Chief Executive Officer. Canadian Apprenticeship Forum: Sarah Watts-Rynard, Executive Director. Canadian Federation of Students: Brent Farrington, Internal Coordinator. Fédération étudiante universitaire du Québec: Tierry Morel-Laforce, President. Let's Talk Science: Bonnie Schmidt, Founder and President. National Educational Association of Disabled Students: Frank Smith, National Coordinator.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of Youth Employment in Canada.

Denise Amyot, Sarah Watts-Rynard, Brent Farrington, Tierry Morel-Laforce, Bonnie Schmidt and Frank Smith made statements and answered questions.

At 5:18 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
