The Standing Committee on Finance met in camera at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Hon. Scott Brison, Guy Caron, Raymond Côté, Randy Hoback, Brian Jean, Peggy Nash, James Rajotte, Murray Rankin, Andrew Saxton and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Ray Boughen for Mark Adler, Bob Dechert for Gerald Keddy and Greg Kerr for Gerald Keddy.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief Analyst; Mark Mahabir, Analyst; Michaël Lambert-Racine, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations 2013.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "The Future We Want: Recommendations for the 2014 Budget".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than 8 pages in length and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That a news release be prepared by the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, October 21, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of Income Inequality in Canada.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 4:47 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
