The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Robert Aubin, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Larry Miller, Isabelle Morin, Pierre Poilievre, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

Acting Members present: Hon. Ralph Goodale for Hon. Denis Coderre, Jack Harris for Mike Sullivan and Anne Minh-Thu Quach for Olivia Chow.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Lavoie, Analyst ; Allison Padova, Analyst.

Witnesses: Canadian Propane Association: Jim Facette, President and Chief Executive Officer. Chemistry Industry Association of Canada: Richard Paton, President and Chief Executive Officer; Fiona Cook, Director, Business and Economics. Mining Association of Canada: Pierre Gratton, President and Chief Executive Officer; François Tougas, Representative, Lawyer, McMillan LLP. Canadian Fertilizer Institute: Roger Larson, President; Ian S. MacKay, Legal Counsel. Canadian National: Claude Mongeau, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, February 8, 2013, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-52, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act (administration, air and railway transportation and arbitration).

Jim Facette, Richard Paton, Pierre Gratton and Roger Larson made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
