The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in camera at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Yasmin Ratansi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Rod Bruinooge, Siobhan Coady, Jacques Gourde, Martha Hall Findlay, Ed Holder, Pat Martin, Richard Nadeau, Yasmin Ratansi and Chris Warkentin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst; Édison Roy-César, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the economic stimulus package.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That for the current meeting, debate on each paragraph of the draft report be limited to between five and seven minutes.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold three separate meetings on case studies as part of its study of the freeze on departmental budget envelopes and government operations, and that the first of these meetings be held on Monday, April 19, 2010, and include witnesses from the Canadian International Development Agency and the Office of the Information Commissioner; that the second of these meetings be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, and include witnesses from Correctional Services Canada and the authors of the forthcoming report from the Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer respecting the costs associated with the Truth in Sentencing Act, and any other witnesses the committee may deem appropriate; and that the third of these meetings be held on Monday, May 3, 2010, and include witnesses from the Department of Public Works and Government Services and the Department of National Defence.

 

At 5:11 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
