The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Paul Crête, Brian Fitzpatrick, Walt Lastewka, Brian Masse, Dan McTeague, The Hon. Gilbert Normand, James Rajotte, Brent St. Denis and Paddy Torsney.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Geoffrey P. Kieley and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From Upper Canada Networks: Vic Allen, Chief Executive Officer. From AT&T Canada: John McLennan, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; Chris Peirce, Vice-President, Regulatory & Government Affairs. From CallNet Enterprises Inc.: William Linton, President and Chief Executive Officer; Jean Brazeau, Senior Vice-President, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Partnerships; Ian Scott, Vice-President, Government Affairs.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Foreign Investment Restrictions Applicable to Telecommunications Common Carriers.
Vic Allen, John McLennan and William Linton each made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
