The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Paul Crête, Brian Fitzpatrick, Cheryl Gallant, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, The Hon. Gilbert Normand, Brent St. Denis and Paddy Torsney.
Acting Member present: Odina Desrochers for Jocelyne Girard-Bujold.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Geoffrey P. Kieley and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From XIT Telecom: François D. Ménard, Project Manager, Telecommunications. From the "Union des consommateurs": Jean Sébastien, Telecommunications Policy Analyst.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of Foreign Investment Restrictions Applicable to Telecommunications Common Carriers.
François Ménard and Jean Sébastien each made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
