The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs and the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in a joint televised session at 3:38 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 253-D of the Centre Block, the Chairs, Robert Bertrand and Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Hec Cloutier, Art Hanger, Judi Longfield, John O’Reilly, David Pratt, John Richardson, Pierrette Venne.
Acting Members present: Bill Blaikie for Dick Proctor.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to examine Canada’s future participation in the Stabilization Force (SFOR) in Bosnia.
The Committee proceeded to debate a draft report and resolution.
The witnesses answered questions.
It was agreed, --That the draft resolution, as amended, be adopted as the Second Report of the Committee and that the Chair be authorized to present the Report to the House.
It was agreed, --That pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Harry Wu be invited to appear before the Committee to address the issue of human rights in China.
At 6:03 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
