Marion Buller, Tricia Logan and Carol Hopkins made statements and answered questions.
It was agreed, — That, given the recent horrific discovery of previously unknown remains of 215 children buried at the site of the Kamloops Indian Residential School, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study regarding the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action 72-76; that the committee invite witnesses, including officials from the Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation and former commissioners of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada to appear at this meeting; that this study consist of one meeting and that this meeting be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
