Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 26, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board’s guidelines.

Steven Morgan, Anie Perrault, Sharon Batt, Jennifer Beeman and Kelly Grover made statements and, with Paul Levesque, answered questions.

At 2:44 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:45 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pamela Fralick, Christopher McCabe and Erin Little made statements and, with Declan Hamill, answered questions.

Motion

Jennifer O'Connell moved, — That the Standing Committee on Health hold an additional meeting on the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board guidelines, as we were initially scheduled to do, in place of one of the meetings to be scheduled during the regularly scheduled meeting slots prior to the end of day on June 21, 2021; that the clerk invite the PMPRB to appear as a witness; that the meeting take place for two hours; and that, in addition to the PMPRB witness, each party be allowed to invite one witness for this meeting on the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board's guidelines.

Debate arose thereon.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Mike Kelloway, Jennifer O'Connell, Marcus Powlowski, Sonia Sidhu, Tony Van Bynen — 5;

NAYS: Don Davies, Chris d'Entremont, Ted Falk, Larry Maguire, Michelle Rempel Garner, Luc Thériault — 6.
