Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, October 16, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Canada and the Ukraine crisis.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the Committee report to the House on testimony received during its meeting on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 concerning an update on the situation in Ukraine, as a follow-up to its Report on "Canada`s Support to Ukraine in Crisis and Armed Conflict," tabled in the House in December 2017.

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:57 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 23, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Canada’s involvement in NATO.

It was agreed, — That the draft report , as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Canada and NATO: An Alliance Forged in Strength and Reliability".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release after the presentation of the Committee's report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 3:45 p.m. after the tabling of the Committee's report in the House on Canada's Involvement in NATO; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committtee invite the Ambassador and the Defence Attaché of the Republic of Moldova to Canada for a two-hour briefing session to discuss Moldova's geopolitical and military interests in the context of Russian hostility and aggression.

It was agreed, — That, given the fundamental shift in the nature of Operation IMPACT announced on Thursday, June 7, 2018 by the Chief of Defence Staff, the Committee invite the Chief of Defence Staff and relevant officials from the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces to provide a technical briefing and update on Operation IMPACT for one full committee meeting regarding the current and planned roles of the Canadian Armed Forces in Iraq.

At 10:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
