Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a comprehensive study of long-term care on reserve; that the scope of the study include and not be limited to, elder care, persons living with chronic illness, palliative and hospice care and culturally relevant practices and programs; and that the witness list include First Nation community representatives, First Nation organizations responsible for delivering long-term care services, and groups and organizations affiliated with service delivery; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a comprehensive study of community capacity building and retention of talent in the delivery of essential services on reserve; that the scope of the study include, capacity building for talent retention and the recruitment of Indigenous employees in various fields; that the study review regional and community organizations which already have programs in place; that the witness list include First Nation community representatives, subject matter experts on professional retention, and Indigenous led organizations who specialize in recruitment and retention; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a comprehensive study of innovation on reserve with regards to infrastructure and community planning; that the scope of the study include, the opportunity to study best practices from innovative projects that incorporate and empower traditional knowledge, culture, and language in building thriving communities; and that the witness list include First Nation community representatives, urban and community planners, and subject matter experts on social and economic innovation for First Nation communities; and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

At 4:44 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
