Minutes of Proceedings
Doug Eyolfson moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study on the violence faced by healthcare workers in hospitals, long-term care facilities and in home care settings in order to develop recommendations on actions that the federal government can take, in partnership with the provinces and territories, to improve violence prevention in health care; that the Committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
Debate arose thereon.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

NAYS: — 0.
John Oliver moved, — That the Clerk of the Committee write to all witnesses who were scheduled to appear before the Committee to testify on the study of Canada's Food Guide and were unable to do so because of the schedule of the House to ask for written submissions to the Committee; that the analysts prepare a letter from the Chair of the Committee to the Minister of Health that contains a summary of evidence from all testimony and briefs received by June 22; that the letter express that the Committee has received said testimony and briefs and would like to make the Minister aware of the testimony; that the Chair review and approve the letter on behalf of the Committee, ensuring that it contains only a summary of evidence; and that the Chair send it to the Minister of Health.
Ben Lobb moved, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “only a summary of evidence” the following: “and that written and oral evidence be appended”.
On motion of Ben Lobb, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “only a summary of evidence” the following: “and that written and oral evidence be appended”.
The debate continued.
K. Kellie Leitch moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “that the Chair review” with the words “that the Chair and Vice-Chairs review”.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of K. Kellie Leitch and it was agreed to.
The question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 0.
The motion, as amended, read as follows:

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Report on Highly Sweetened Pre-Mixed Alcoholic Beverages".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
ORDERED, — That the analysts and the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, issue a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
