The Standing Committee on Official Languages met in a televised session at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, the Hon. Michael D. Chong, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Tyrone Benskin, Ray Boughen, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Hon. Stéphane Dion, Pierre Dionne Labelle, Yvon Godin, Jacques Gourde, Élaine Michaud, Bernard Trottier and John Williamson.

 

Acting Members present: Gordon Brown for Costas Menegakis and Ron Cannan for John Weston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lucie Lecomte, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages: Graham Fraser, Commissioner; Ghislaine Charlebois, Assistant Commissioner, Compliance Assurance Branch; Lise Cloutier, Assistant Commissioner, Corporate Management Branch; Sylvain Giguère, Assistant Commissioner, Policy and Communications Branch; Colette Lagacé, Director, Finance and Procurement.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2012-13: Vote 20 under PRIVY COUNCIL referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
 

The Chair called Vote 20 under PRIVY COUNCIL.

 

Graham Fraser made a statement and, with Ghislaine Charlebois, Lise Cloutier and Sylvain Giguère, answered questions.

 

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:57 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Vote 20 under PRIVY COUNCIL carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 20, under PRIVY COUNCIL to the House.

 

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
