The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen St., the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Jim Abbott, Dean Allison, Johanne Deschamps, Paul Dewar, James Lunney, Deepak Obhrai, Bernard Patry, Glen Douglas Pearson, Hon. Bob Rae and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Lois Brown for Peter Goldring and Roger Gaudet for Jean Dorion.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Embassy of Mongolia: H.E. Tundevdorj Zalaa-Uul, Ambassador of Mongolia to Canada; Amirlin Erdenebold, Attaché; Solongo Zalaa-Uul, Personal Assistant, Office of the Ambassador. Canadian Executive Service Organization: Gale Lee, Vice-President, International Services. Centre for Trade Policy and Law: Phil Rourke, Executive Director.

 

Participants present: Parliament of Mongolia: Dashdorj Zorigt, Minister of Minerals and Energy. Civil Service Council of Mongolia: Dorjdamba Zumberellkham, Head.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 7, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the effectiveness and viability of public service partnerships between nations.
 

Dashdorj Zorigt and Dorjdamba Zumberellkham made statements by prerecorded video.

 

Gale Lee and Phil Rourke made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee proceeded to sit in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
