The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Fabian Manning, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Raynald Blais, Hon. Gerry Byrne, Blaine Calkins, Randy Kamp, Yvon Lévesque, Fabian Manning, Bill Matthews and Scott Simms.

 

Acting Members present: Catherine Bell for Peter Stoffer, Colin Carrie for Gerald Keddy and Hon. Joe McGuire for Hon. Lawrence MacAulay.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: National Harbour Authority Advisory Committee : Osborne Burke, Chairperson, Maritimes and Gulf; Luc Legresley, Vice-Chair, Quebec; Bob Baziuk, Secretary, British Columbia; Bruce Benson, Member, Central and Arctic; Morris Fudge, Member, Newfoundland and Labrador; Mr. David Tomasson, member, Central and Arctic.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on November 14, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of the Operation and Maintenance of Small Craft Harbours.
 

Osborne Burke, Luc Legresley, Bob Baziuk, Bruce Benson and Morris Fudge made statements and, with David Tomasson, answered questions.

 

At 5:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $26,600, for its study on the Operation and Maintenance of Small Craft Harbours be adopted.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
