The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Claude Duplain, Judi Longfield, Lynn Myers, Carolyn Parrish, Marcel Proulx, Benoît Sauvageau, Diane St-Jacques and Chuck Strahl.

 

Acting Members present: Bev Desjarlais for Yvon Godin, Ovid Jackson for Hon. Elinor Caplan, Hon. Robert D. Nault for Lynn Myers and Paddy Torsney for Hon. Elinor Caplan.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Principal; Megan Furi, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: House of Commons: William Corbett, Clerk; Peter Milliken, Speaker.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi), the Committee resumed consideration of matters relating to electoral boundaries readjustment.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of the report of the Subcommittee on Electoral Boundaries Readjustment.

 

Paddy Torsney moved, — That the report of the Subcommittee be the report of the Committee and that the Chair present the report to the House.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

 

The Committee commenced consideration of another report of the Subcommittee on Electoral Boundaries Readjustment.

 

On motion of Paddy Torsney, it was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee be the report of the Committee and that the Chair present the report to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2004-2005: Vote 5 (House of Commons) under PARLIAMENT, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2004.
 
The Chair called Vote 5 under PARLIAMENT.
 

The Speaker made a statement and, with the Clerk of the House, answered questions.

 

Vote 5 under PARLIAMENT, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 5 (House of Commons) under PARLIAMENT, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, to the House.

 

At 12:26 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
