The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in a televised session at 8:30 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Louis Plamondon, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur.
Other Member present: Kevin Sorenson.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Principal.
Appearing: The Hon. Lyle Vanclief, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food: Samy Watson, Deputy Minister; André Gravel, Executive Vice-President, Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced consideration of the Agricultural Policy Framework
The Minister made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
