Tuesday, May 7, 2002

The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Wendy Lill, Anita Neville.

Acting Member present: Werner Schmidt for Reed Elley.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Office of the Commissioner of Review Tribunals Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security: G. Peter Smith, Commissioner, Review Tribunals CPP / OAS; Guy Arseneault, Deputy Commissioner, Review Tribunals CPP / OAS; Tina Head, Senior Counsel, Legal Services; Chantal Proulx, Legal Counsel, Legal Services; Pat Iannitti, Director, Tribunal Operations; Émile Bergeron, Officer, Professional Development and Information Services.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-committee resumed its study of Canada Pension Plan Disability. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday April 9, 2002, Meeting no. 19).

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:20 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
