MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 19

Tuesday, April 9, 2002

The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Wendy Lill, Anita Neville, Larry Spencer, Tony Tirabassi.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young and Kevin Kerr, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) Study of the matters relating to the proposing, promoting, monitoring and assessing of initiatives aimed at the integration and equality of disabled persons in all sectors of Canadian Society.

The Sub-Committee discussed its future business.

It was agreed, – That the Sub-Committee begin a study on Canadian Pension Plan Disability.

It was agreed, – That the Sub-Committee hold one meeting on April 16th to discuss issues concerning international activities in the area of disability.

At 4:46 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
