Meeting No. 1

Tuesday, February 13, 2001

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Carolyn Parrish and Marcel Proulx.

Acting Members present: Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral for Michel Guimond; Grant McNally for Garry Breitkreuz; Lorne Nystrom for Bill Blaikie.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Clifford Lincoln, Libby Davies, Guy St-Julien, Yvon Godin, Garry Breitkreuz, Michel Guimond, John Bryden, Pat Martin, Judy Wasylycia-Leis, Paul Forseth for Jay Hill, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Paul Crête and Peter Stoffer.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, February 8, 2001.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:45 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned until Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at 3:30 p.m.
