The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, John Bryden, Odina Desrochers, John Finlay, Sophia Leung, Philip Mayfield, Shawn Murphy, Beth Phinney, Alex Shepherd and John Williams.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; Peter Simeoni, Principal. From the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat: Richard Neville, Deputy Comptroller General; John Morgan, Executive Director, Financial Management and Accounting Policy Directorate; Bruce Hirst, Senior Director, Financial Management and Accounting Policy Directorate.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to consider Chapter 4 (Voted Grants and Contributions: Government-Wide Management) and Chapter 5 (Voted Grants and Contributions: Program Management) of the December 2001 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 5:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
