The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Bill Graham, Stan Keyes, Diane Marleau, Keith Martin, Deepak Obhrai, Denis Paradis.
Acting Members present: Antoine Dubé for Francine Lalonde.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John M. Wright.
Witnesses: As Individual: Chris Westdal, Canadian Ambassador to the UN for Disarmament.
From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Leigh Sarty, Non-Proliferation, Arms Control and Disarmament Division (IDA).
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), study of Canada's policy on nuclear non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament.
Ambassador Westdal made a statement and, with Leigh Sarty, responded to questions.
At 10:15 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
