The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 4:28 p.m., this day, in Kelowna, British Columbia, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Dick Proctor and Paul Steckle.

Acting Members present: Werner Schmidt for David Anderson and Odina Desrochers for Suzanne Tremblay.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the Future Role of the Government in Agriculture.

From the British Columbia Fruit Packers: Rob Holitzki; Richard King. From the B. C. Tree Fruits Limited: Gerry Shaw; Greg Gauthier. As Individual: Gordie Ivans. From the Apple Valley Country Gardens: Alan Clarke.
