Meeting No. 7

Monday, December 6, 1999

The Sub-Committee on Corrections and Conditional Release Act of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Paul DeVillers, Jim Gouk, Jacques Saada and Pierrette Venne.

Other Member present: Hon. Andy Scott.

In attendance From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst, Lynn Casavant, Researcher.

The Order of Reference dated Thursday, December 2, 1999, being read as follows:

ORDERED, - That the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights be designated as the committee for the purposes of section 233 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.

Pursuant to the mandate given to the Sub-Committee by the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights (See Minutes of Proceedings, Monday, October 25, 1999, Meeting No. 1), a statutory review of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.

The Sub-Committee continued its consideration of a draft report.

At 4:07 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
