Meeting No. 6
Monday, November 29, 1999
The Sub-Committee on Corrections and Conditional Release Act of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met in camera at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Paul DeVillers, Jim Gouk, Ivan Grose, Peter MacKay, Jacques Saada, Pierrette Venne, Tom Wappel.
Acting Member present: Andy Scott for Lynn Myers.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst, Lynn Casavant, Researcher.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a statutory review of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.
The Sub-Committee continued its consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, - That a report be prepared for the consideration of the members of the Sub-Committee inviting the House to establish a Special Committee to complete the comprehensive reviews required by sections 232 and 233 of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act within one year of its establishment.
At 4:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
