The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Antoine Dubé, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Dan McTeague, Ian Murray, Nelson Riis and Susan Whelan.

Acting Member present: Guy St-Julien for John Cannis.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Geoffrey Kieley, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Chamber of Commerce: Paul Crampton, Partner, Davies, Ward & Beck, Barristers and Solicitors; Michael Murphy, Senior Vice-President, Policy. From the Campaign for Press and Broadcasting Freedom: David Robinson.

Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a Review of the Competition Act.

The witnesses made statements.

At 4:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
