The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Maurizio Bevilacqua, Nick Discepola, Ken Epp, Roger Gallaway, Albina Guarnieri, Richard Marceau, Lorne Nystrom, Karen Redman and Paul Szabo.
Acting Members presents: Tony Valeri for Roy Cullen; Paul Forseth for Richard Harris.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Soucy, Researcher; Marion Wrobel, Senior Analyst.
Witnesses: As Individuals: Christopher Ragan, Professor, McGill University; Prof. Herbert Grubel, Professor of Economics, Simon Fraser University. From the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives: Andrew Jackson, Research Associate. As Individual: Pierre Siklos, Professor, Wilfrid Laurier University.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its consideration of Monetary Policy.
Christopher Ragan, Herbert Grubel, Andrew Jackson and Pierre Siklos made statements and answered questions.
At 5:22 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
