Tuesday, April 27, 1999
The Sub-Committee on Tax Equity for Canadian Families with Dependent Children of the Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Nick Discepola, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Serge Cardin, Nick Discepola, Michelle Dockrill, Paul Forseth, John Herron, Rey Pagtakhan and Paul Szabo.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Marion Wrobel, Senior Analyst and Julie Cusson, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Human Resources Development Canada: Marta Morgan, Director, Children's Policy, Social Policy, Strategic Policy; Alain Denhez, Assistant Director, Tax Policy, Social Policy; Ron Stewart, Assistant Director General, Labour Market Policy, Strategic Policy.
Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Finance, dated March 17, 1999, the Sub-Committee resumed its study on Tax Fairness for Canadian Families with Dependent Children.
Marta Morgan and Ron Steward made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 5:43 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
