Tuesday, April 13, 1999

The Sub-Committee on Corrections and Conditional Release Act of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Paul DeVillers, Jim Gouk, Ivan Grose, Peter MacKay, Richard Marceau, Jacques Saada and Tom Wappel.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lynn Casavant, Researcher; Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst.

Witnesses: From the Union of Solicitor General Employees: Lynn Ray, National President; Linda Davis, Senior Service Officer; From the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime: Steve Sullivan, Executive Director; From the Victims of Violence Centre for Missing Children: Gary Rosenfeldt, Executive Director; As Individual: Lynn Charron.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a statutory review of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
