Wednesday, April 28, 1999
The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Rahim Jaffer, Ian Murray, Janko Peric, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Statistics Canada: Dr. Ivan P. Fellegi, Chief Statistician of Canada; Jamie Brunet, Year 2000 Survey Manager.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on Information Technology: Preparedness for Year 2000.
Dr. Ivan P. Fellegi made an opening statement.
At 3:44 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Dr. Ivan P. Fellegi continued with his opening statement, and with the witness, answered questions.
At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
