MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 52

Tuesday, March 23, 1999

The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:15 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Albina Guarnieri, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Bonnie Brown, Brenda Chamberlain, Hec Clouthier, Denis Coderre, Paul Crête, John Godfrey, Albina Guarnieri, John O'Reilly, The Hon. Andy Scott and Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member(s) present: Carolyn Bennett for Larry McCormick.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder and Bill Young, Research Officers.

After debate, it was agreed that the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and Status of Persons with Disabilities adopt the budget of the Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities in the amount of $28,500.

After debate, it was agreed that the budget for the Standing Committee and the two Sub-Committees in the amount of $76,500 be adopted.

It was agreed that depending on the amount granted by the Liaison Committee the Standing Committee could revise the allocation of funds to the Sub-Committees.

It was agreed that members send to the Clerk by April 12, 1999 the list of witnesses they wish to hear in relation with the Older Workers study.

At 11:37 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
