Meeting No. 13

MONDAY, DECEMBER 8, 1997

The Standing Committee on Human Resources and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 3:41 o’clock p.m., this day, in room 705, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Reg Alcock, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Rob Anders, Carolyn Bennet, Claudette Bradshaw, Libby Davies, Jean Dubé, Christiane Gagnon, Larry McCormick and Robert Nault.

Acting Members present: Steve Mahoney for Brenda Chamberlain, Roy Cullen for Nick Discepola, Caroline St-Hilaire for Stéphan Tremblay.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: William Young and Sandra Harder, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Human Resources Development: Thomas Townsend, Director General, Learning and Literacy Secretariat.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on student aid. (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, November 27, 1997).

The committee considered a draft report on student aid.

At 5:32 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
