Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the committee resumed its study of use of federal government research and development grants, funds, and contributions by Canadian Universities and research institutions in partnerships with entities connected to the People’s Republic of China.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: “The Security of Research Partnerships Between Canadian Universities, Research Institutions and Entities Connected to the People’s Republic of China”.

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to this report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, no later than Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of science and research in Canada's Arctic in relation to climate change, members be invited to submit their initial lists of proposed witnesses to the clerk no later than Monday, April 22, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

At 11:28 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
