MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 1

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 3:39 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, for the purpose of electing a Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 106(1).

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Leon Benoit, Kelly Block, Claude Gravelle, Peter Julian, Ryan Leef, Christine Moore, Hon. Geoff Regan, Brad Trost and Bob Zimmer.

Acting Members present: Denis Blanchette for Linda Duncan and Hon. Steven Fletcher for Joan Crockatt.

In attendance: House of Commons: Marie-France Renaud, Procedural Clerk.

Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Chair.

Peter Julian moved, — That Leon Benoit be elected Chair of the Committee.

Claude Gravelle moved, — That Brad Trost be elected Chair of the Committee.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the motion of Claude Gravelle be withdrawn.

It was agreed, — That Leon Benoit be elected Chair of the Committee.

By unanimous consent, pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee proceeded to the election of Vice-Chairs.

On motion of Geoff Regan, it was agreed, — That Peter Julian be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Christine Moore, it was agreed, — That Geoff Regan be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

Leon Benoit took the Chair.

At 3:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
