The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 8:46 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: André Bellavance, France Bonsant, Hon. Wayne Easter, Hon. Mark Eyking, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, Larry Miller, Blake Richards, Bev Shipley, Brian Storseth and Francis Valeriote.

Acting Members present: Malcolm Allen for Alex Atamanenko.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst ; Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst . House of Commons: Carmen DePape, Procedural Clerk.

Witnesses: Kalwood Farms: Roger Bailey. Union des producteurs agricoles: William Van Tassel, Representative. As individuals: Curtiss G. Littlejohn, Producer; Stuart Person, Farmer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2010-2011: Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 30b and 35b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 4, 2010.

The Chair called Vote 1b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD.

Vote 1b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD carried.

The Chair called Vote 5b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD.

Vote 5b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD carried.

The Chair called Vote 10b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD.

Vote 10b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD carried.

The Chair called Vote 30b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD.

Vote 30b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD carried.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 30b and 35b under AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

On motion of Wayne Easter, it was agreed, — That the Committee adopt a budget of $9,850 for its study on Program Review.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, the Committee commenced its study of program review.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 10:05, Mark Eyking took the Chair.

At 10:09, Larry Miller took the Chair.

At 10:48 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
