The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Norman Doyle, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, Robert Carrier, Olivia Chow, Norman Doyle, Nina Grewal, Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Wajid Khan, Ed Komarnicki, Thierry St-Cyr and Hon. Andrew Telegdi.

 

Acting Members present: Lynne Yelich for Dave Batters.

 

Associate Members present: Blair Wilson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Penny Becklumb, Analyst; Sandra Elgersma, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet to hear witnesses for six hours on Monday, May 12, and Tuesday, May 13, and for four hours on Wednesday, May 14; and that the Committee meet to consider a draft report for up to three hours starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, on the subject matter of Part 6 of Bill C-50, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 26, 2008 and to enact provisions to preserve the fiscal plan set out in that budget.

 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 76,350, for the period of May 12 to May 16, 2008, for the study of Part 6 of Bill C-50, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 26, 2008 and to enact provisions to preserve the fiscal plan set out in that budget, and that the Chair present the said budget to the Budget Subcommittee of the Liaison Committee.

 

At 4:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
